Overview

The Division of Social Work offers a Generalist BSW program from two campuses, Laramie and the University of Wyoming at Casper (UWC). Additionally, the division provides an Advanced Generalist MSW Program on both campuses, enrolling approximately 70 undergraduate and 50 graduate students. The BSW program provides a traditional in-person experience on each of the campuses, while the MSW program utilizes intensive face-to-face week-end classes and distance education methods to deliver the curriculum statewide. The Division has a commitment to scholarship, education, and practice rooted in the principles and values of social justice.

The person in this position must possess strong communication skills, as well as knowledge and experience with rural opportunities, challenges, and practice. Significant to the position is the facilitation of student success. The preferred start date is August 2024. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Teaching across curricula: a range of BSW & MSW classes; student recruitment, admission, and advisement; field practicum recruitment, coordination, and field liaison work; and University and community service.
  • The position may require evening teaching, travel within the state, and teaching using distance delivery systems

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • An MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited institution
  • Two years of relevant professional social work practice experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

Relevant teaching experience, training facilitation, and/or student supervision.
