The School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for two Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Practice positions.

We are especially interested in adding faculty who will strengthen our capacity in the areas of direct practice as it relates to Mental Health/Substance Misuse, Community/Administrative Practice, and Children and Families. Candidates should address their interests, strengths and experiences working and collaborating within these interdisciplinary domains in the application cover letter. We also ask that candidates highlight in their letter which of the preferred qualifications they possess.

In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States.

Essential Duties:

  • 80% Teaching: Eight classes per academic year (4:4 load) online, face-to-face, or hybrid
  • 20% Service: To the School of Social Work, University, Community and Profession
  • These essential duties and responsibilities are subject to change

Required Qualifications:

  • A doctorate in social work or in a related field. ABD or degree completion within 2 years will be considered
  • A master’s degree in social work – or related field
  • A minimum of three years post-master’s practice experience
  • Teaching experience whether in the classroom or via professional development offerings and trainings
  • Capacity to teach across multiple course topics and program levels (bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral)
  • Ability to teach via various instructional delivery methods including service-learning, experiential learning, and virtual/online

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise to teach and develop courses in the areas of Mental Health/Substance Misuse, Community/Administrative Practice, and Children and Families
  • Evidence of a commitment to teamwork, service, and leadership
