Social Work, Faculty Position – FT Tenure Track (Open Rank) Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus Department of Social Work Long Island University (LIU), Brooklyn Campus invites applications for full time faculty positions in the Department of Social Work at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

LIU Brooklyn’s Department of Social Work includes an undergraduate (BSSW) social work program with approximately 20 declared majors, originally accredited by CSWE in 1999. The graduate (MSW) program, originally accredited by CSWE in 2003, is primarily an evening and weekend MSW program with approximately 120 MSW students. A DSW degree was launched in fall 2022. The MSW program prepares graduates for Clinical and Administrative practice, with concentrations in the following areas: Child and Family Welfare, Forensic Social Work, and mental Health/Substance Use and Other Addictive Behaviors. Although our MSW program is a collaborative program in coordination with LIU’s Post Campus, this current faculty posting is specifically for a position located on the Brooklyn Campus. The candidate will have the opportunity to teach across the curriculum in our graduate, doctoral, and undergraduate programs. The successful candidate will need to be able to work with individuals and communities of diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Requirements include: MSW degree from a CSWE accredited college/university, at least two years postgraduate practice experience, and a PhD/DSW in social work or a related field. Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Familiarity with virtual learning environments and course management systems (hybrid/blended teaching) and/or willingness to train. Ability to conduct fundable research and publish.
