Overview

The Department of Philosophy and Humanities is accepting applications for a Full-time lecturer in Philosophy, beginning August 15, 2024. Teaching duties will be a 4-4 load of philosophy courses, primarily sections of a course in the General Education Core called Science and the Modern World. The course is intended to introduce predominantly B.S. students in the College of Arts and Sciences to some fundamental concepts in the philosophy of science, while also teaching them to think critically about how special interest groups can undermine scientific conclusions. The contract is renewable but is not a tenure-track position.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 18 or more graduate credits in Philosophy at time of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.A. in Philosophy at the time of appointment
  • Evidence of good teaching ability in relevant areas
