Overview

Teach a full-time load of five classes per 16-week Fall and Spring semester (can include both lecture and online classes). Assist in development and maintenance of curriculum for Government courses. Assist with core and program assessment responsibilities within the department. Counsel and advise students to assist them in obtaining their educational goals.

Minimum Required Education

An earned graduate degree from an institution that is accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations. Programs should be from a research based university. Minimum requirements for the position include eighteen graduate credit hours in Government, with coursework that aligns with Federal and Texas Government courses offered at CTC. Prefer Ph.D. and/or professional work experience in the field.

Minimum Required Experience

A minimum of three years of college-level teaching experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be computer literate: to include ability to handle e-mail, downloading, and internet. In addition, the position requires proficiency in Blackboard and a good working knowledge of MS Office.
