SUNY College at Old Westbury is accepting applications for a one-year visiting instructor position in English for the 2017-2018 academic year. The candidate must have a doctorate in English with a specialization in Multi-ethnic Literatures of the United States, a focus in Latina/o Literatures of the U.S., and strengths in teaching English Composition. Additional teaching in general US-British Literature desirable. Must be student centered with strong service orientation.
Teaching load is three courses per semester and will include English Composition and intermediate/upper level literature courses. Professional responsibilities include consistently good teaching, student advisement, and departmental service.
- Doctorate in English with a focus on the study of Multi-Ethnic Literatures of the U.S., particularly in Latina/o Literatures of the U.S.; some college teaching experience required, including in English Composition.
- Some experience teaching general U.S.-British Literature
