Hendrix College invites applications for a one-year term position with possibility for extension for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Politics and International Relations to begin in August 2019. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. Applicants should have a primary focus in either Comparative Politics or International Relations. The area of expertise is open. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in the classroom is essential. The ideal candidate will be able to teach introductory (e.g. Global Issues; US Foreign Policy) and intermediate (e.g. Theories of International Relations or Comparative Politics; Political Economy) courses. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Doctorate is preferred; ABD will be considered.
