The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) at Shepherd University invites applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Family and Consumer Sciences with specializations open. Candidates should be able to teach a range of courses and advise students in the FACS majors and minors.

Responsibilities include teaching 12 undergraduate hours per semester, with some administrative duties to include scheduling and staffing of courses. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Family and Consumer Sciences (or related field) are preferred; a minimum Masters degree is required and candidates who are ABD will be considered. The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is a small department (about 30 majors and 30 minors) offering Bachelor degree programs in FACS and FACS Education along with a Nutrition Minor and several minor emphases, including Child Development, Personal Finance, and Consumer Economics. FACS also offers a wellness course in the university’s core curriculum. The program has a Food Sciences Lab and an Apparel and Textiles Lab.
