Overview

The Tulane University School of Social Work (TSSW) ( http://tssw.tulane.edu) is seeking several exceptional Professors of Practice for our on-ground MSW, online MSW, and DSW programs starting in spring 2019. Professors of Practice positions are full-time non-tenure-track 12-month appointments with primary duties of teaching and student advising.

Tulane University, a Carnegie designated Research I institution, is located in the vibrant city of New Orleans. The School of Social Work invites nominations and applications, especially in the areas of Clinical Behavioral Health, Health, Community organizing, Community practice, and Research. Backgrounds (at all levels: macro, mezzo, and micro) in mental health, health disparities, addictive behaviors, community-based clinical practice, participatory research methods, and prevention/intervention expertise are preferred. Previous experience in teaching online and hybrid innovative courses are also of particular interest to us.

Professors of Practice will teach in the School’s on-ground MSW, online MSW and DSW curriculum. Teaching duties will vary from 1 to 3 courses per semester based on the needs of the School (total load 9 courses per 12 months) as well as student advising and success support.

Qualifications

  • MSW or Masters degree in a related behavioral science discipline
  • PHD, DSW or a doctoral degree in a related behavioral science discipline
  • 3 or more years graduate level teaching experience
  • Course support or coordinator experience – Graduate level
  • Online teaching experience
