Spelman College seeks an instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching and to the continued enhancement of the academic environment for students and colleagues. Founded in 1881, Spelman College is a private four- year liberal arts college located in Atlanta, GA. The oldest historically Black college for women in the United States, Spelman is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium and Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education. All candidates are expected to have a demonstrated interest in liberal arts and sciences education, be able to contribute effectively to undergraduate teaching, mentoring and advising, assist in curriculum development, and provide service to the department and College as well as be active in scholarly, creative, and/or research productivity appropriate to a liberal arts environment as applicable.
The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies invites applicants for a Part-Time Philosophy Instructor beginning Fall 2017. The successful candidate must be able to teach Formal Logic (PHI 201). The course is introduction to the elements of formal logic. This course includes truth tables, logical operators, valid argument forms, etc.
Qualifications: Masters in philosophy or completed 18 hours of in a Philosophy PhD program. Candidates with teaching experience are preferred.
