Applications are currently invited for a tenure track position as MSW Program Director at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. The MSW Program Director has primary responsibility for directing a CSWE-accredited MSWprogram along with teaching and advising in the program. Other responsibilities include service, research/scholarship and participation in department governance. ETSU is a Doctoral Research Intensive university of approximately 15,000 students. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThe ETSU MSW program is dynamic and growing with off-campus programming sites in Abingdon (VA), Asheville (NC), Kingsport and Sevierville (TN) in addition to the ETSU main campus in Johnson City (TN).
Positioned for service through growth throughout the Southern Appalachian region, applicants for the position of MSW Director should possess the energy, vision, discipline and creativity this mission requires.
Required QualificationsMinimum qualifications include MSW degree and two years post-MSW practice experience, a minimum of five years full-time teaching experience in Social Work education, and a PhD in Social Work or closely related profession/discipline.
Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates who currently hold a PhD; however, ABD will be considered with completion of doctorate by hire date. Preference will also be given to candidates with academic administrative experience, especially directing either a CSWE-accredited MSW or BSW program.
