Department: 161001 – Interdisciplinary Studies

Essential Job Duties:

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in a specific discipline in Interdisciplinary Studies according to departmental need and employee knowledge, skills and ability. Courses may be taught in the areas of Africana Studies, Arts Studies (Film, Music, Visual Arts), Interdisciplinary Studies, International Studies, STS (Science, Technology, and Society), and Women and Gender Studies.

Appointments may be available for Summer 2018, Fall 2018, and/or Spring 2019, with the possibility of renewal.

Minimum Experience/Education:

Requires master’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • The candidate must demonstrate skills in teaching and conducting research with a diverse cross-section of students.
  • Attention to and ability to facilitate improvement in student writing as well as offering substantial course content in person and online.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD. in the humanities,social science or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary subject matter.
