Overview

The Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of South Dakota invites applications for the position of Instructor of French. This is a term position with the expectation of renewal. An earned Master’s Degree is required.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower and upper-division courses in French both face-to-face and online. Candidates should have native/near-native fluency in English and French and be able to demonstrate evidence of superior teaching at the post-secondary level in a North-American setting, expertise in current methodologies and culture-based instruction including integration of technology in the classroom. There is no expectation of research, however, this position requires departmental service, with a strong emphasis on recruitment. We are especially interested in applicants with a record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from all backgrounds (including first-generation college students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ, etc.).
