Overview

The Department of Liberal Studies at Texas A&M University in Galveston invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor in History, non-tenure track, beginning September 1, 2019. We will consider applicants from all subfields of history, but the successful candidate must be willing to teach the required core curriculum courses in U.S. History. Applicants must demonstrate excellent teaching. A Ph.D. in History is required at the time of appointment.

Texas A&M University at Galveston is the maritime campus of Texas A&M University. The Department of Liberal Studies (http://www.tamug.edu/list/) currently has programs in maritime studies, maritime environmental law and policy, maritime public policy and communication, and tourism and coastal community development. This is predominantly a teaching position, so the successful candidate is expected to have an exceptionally strong commitment to excellence in teaching and other interactions leading to overall student success. Applicants will be evaluated based on current credentials as well as potential for future development.
