The purpose of this position is to instruct classes and labs as assigned by the Dean and to develop new courses. This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement to students; serving on college committees; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, guidelines, and regulations of Northeast Community College.
Education: Requires master’s degree in Geography, History or a related field. Successful candidate will meet the degree requirement or be willing to attain the required degree within two years of hire date.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in post-secondary education preferred.
Skills: Applicant should possess advanced oral and written communication skills; expertise in teaching World History and Geography; exceptional human relations and problem-solving skills; proficient computer skills and the ability to use instructional technology in the classroom; and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
