Overview

Prepare and teach 15-credit hours of College English or College English paired with Academic Literacy (Integrated Reading, Writing, and Critical Thinking), which is the College’s Accelerated Learning Program (ALP). Teaching responsibilities may be face to face or in a blended /online format, using a variety of teaching techniques and instructional technology. Stay current in the disciplines and participate with other faculty in developing curricula. Demonstrate service in college committees and projects, and seek continuous professional development in teaching methodologies and practices. May be assigned to the Catonsville campus, Essex campus, Dundalk campus, or Owings Mills Extension Center.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in English, Composition/Rhetoric, Reading, Literacy, or related field.¬†Experience working with developmental students of varying skill levels required; teaching accelerated co-requisite English/integrated reading writing and critical thinking at the college level preferred. Strong proficiency with learning management systems and emerging instructional technologies. Evidence of working effectively with students, colleagues and learning support staff. Prior community college teaching experience, online teaching experience, and curriculum development preferred.
