Overview

The Department of Sociology, Social Work and Anthropology at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position (non-tenure track). The position is located at the USU Regional Campus in Tooele, Utah. We particularly seek applications from individuals with expertise related to public child welfare.

This is a nine-month appointment with USU’s social work program (MSW and BSW degrees) beginning August of 2018. Clinical faculty positions have a role assignment of 90% teaching, supervising, and advising, and 10% service. Requirements include the ability to teach graduate and undergraduate social work courses utilizing distance education technology as well as the ability to travel regionally throughout western Utah. Clinical-track positions are renewed annually, assuming acceptable performance of the role assignment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach courses in BSW and MSW programs
  2. Advise undergraduate and graduate students
  3. Supervise practicum placements regionally
  4. Engage in scholarship and professional productivity
  5. Coordinate the Title IV-E child welfare training program
  6. Provide service to the department, the Regional campus, and the social work profession

USU Tooele Regional Campus: The USU-Tooele Regional Campus is an expanding campus community serving about 1,000 students annually. This campus boasts a doubling of student enrollment in recent years, a highly dedicated faculty and staff, and extraordinary community support.
