Hampton University invites applications to fill a chairperson at the Associate or Assistant professor level for a tenure-track position beginning Fall 2017.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong management and leadership abilities, curriculum development experience, the acquisition of grants funding, research activity, and commitment to quality teaching and mentoring of students. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sociology from an accredited university, management and administrative abilities, leadership abilities, potential to teach effectively (in both online and traditional settings) at the university level in undergraduate settings, ability to conduct scholarly/funded research and publish in peer-reviewed outlets, and the ability to advise students.
