Overview

The Department of Political Science, International Affairs, and Public Administration at East Tennessee State University invites applications for the position of Associate Professor and Director of the MPA Program beginning August 15, 2019. The position carries a 2/2 teaching load, shared between the MPA program and the undergraduate Political Science program. The Department expects the successful applicant to guide the MPA program to accreditation and expand its enrollment and to maintain a reasonable level of research activity.

Required QualificationsApplicants must have a Ph.D. in Public Administration or Political Science. An applicant with a Ph.D. in Political Science should have either an MPA degree or a subfield of Public Administration in the doctoral program. Experience with the NASPAAaccreditation process and with online degree programs is essential.

Preferred QualificationsAbility to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in state and local government and graduate courses in public management.
