William Paterson University invites applications for a one-year assistant professor appointment in the Department of Philosophy.
Ph.D. in Philosophy and teaching experience required. Advanced standing ABD candidates may be considered at the rank of instructor.
We are seeking applicants with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and who bring research and teaching expertise in social areas of philosophy, with preference for specializations in Philosophy of Law, Philosophy of Race, Ethics, or Social and Political Philosophy. Additional preferences for online teaching experience and for interdisciplinary experience in liberal or general studies. The successful candidate will teach a 4-4 load of undergraduate courses in area of specialization, in support of the department’s Liberal Studies major, and/or in offerings related to the University Core Curriculum, as needed.
