Overview

The Department of Social Work at Western Carolina University invites application for a 9-month tenure track Social Work faculty position with employment beginning in August 2019. Qualifications include a MSW and a doctorate in Social Work or a related field. Candidates should demonstrate a well developed research agenda and a commitment to scholarship, teaching, field education and service.

Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate Social Work courses, conducting research, publishing and presenting in professional venues, seeking extramural funding, advising students, and engaging in social work practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSW from a CSWE– accredited Social Work program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in Social Work or a related field or completion of a doctorate in Social Work or a related field by August 31, 2019.
  • Eligibility for licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW) in North Carolina.
