The Mississippi University for Women invites applications for a nine month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Experience and qualifications must warrant appointment as assistant professor at a regional university.

The assistant professor reports to the department chair and is responsible for teaching, advising, service, and professional development. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy from a regionally-accredited university and be prepared to teach a wide variety of courses from introductory philosophy and logic to upper level courses as listed in our current bulletin. The candidate should also be able to teach related courses in gender or women’s studies, religious studies, and political philosophy. The candidate must have experience teaching both online, hybrid and face to face classes. Experience with, or interest in, teaching students with diverse cultural backgrounds is also important. The assistant professor will have a 4-4 teaching load generally with three preparations per semester.
