The College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the position Assistant Professor of Italian (tenure-track) to join the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies.
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Italian, Italian Studies, or a closely related field; possess near-native fluency in Italian and English; and demonstrate teaching excellence at all levels of undergraduate instruction. The successful candidate will teach Italian at all levels for Languages and Intercultural Studies majors and minors and for the general CCU student population. In addition, the successful candidate will teach courses on Italian culture and civilization in English and work collaboratively with all faculty in a multi-language department to promote a culture that values foreign language learning. Experience with study-abroad and collaboration across disciplines is highly desirable. Tenure-line faculty are expected to maintain an ongoing research agenda and contribute meaningful service to the department, college, and university.
