Overview

The Department of History and Political Science seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor with a specialization in African History. While the period and area of concentration are open, we are especially seeking scholars that focus on antiquity and/or Africana women’s history. The successful applicant will teach a 4/4 course load consisting of general education global history courses and upper level courses in African history (pre-colonial, colonial, and post-colonial), some of which the new hire will help develop. Responsibilities also include the following:

  • Serve on committees
  • Advise students
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair
