The School of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Foreign Language, with a start date of August, 2019. Preference will be given to those applications whose primary area of study is the Spanish language. Additional preference may be given to those with expertise in Spanish for health care. The employee must understand and embrace the mission of Catholic higher education and must commit to the mission, goals and objectives of Holy Family University in word and deed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach a 4/4 load in foreign language acquisition at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels
  • Oversee course content for all sections of foreign language
  • Select and adopt texts for foreign language courses
  • Review adjunct faculty teaching language courses


  • Earned Ph.D. in Spanish or related field is required.
  • A background in Spanish for health professions is desired.
  • Excellent teaching skills, an active scholarly agenda, and a willingness to participate in student advising and campus service.
