Job DescriptionThe Department of English invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to begin August 2018. The successful candidate will demonstrate both scholarly and teaching excellence in British Medieval Literature plus an ability to teach Introduction to Linguistics. Teaching responsibilities will include Medieval Literature, Linguistics, Traditional Grammar, core courses for the major, and courses within the instructor’s area(s) of specialty. Teaching responsibilities may also include courses that serve the college more broadly, including Freshman Composition and Conversatio, a multidisciplinary course providing every Saint Anselm student a shared learning experience in the Liberal Arts. We plan to interview at the MLA Convention in January as well as make arrangements for Skype interviews for candidates not attending the MLA. Required SkillsA Ph.D. is required and candidates should receive their Ph.D. by September 2018. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as scholarly research.
