Assistant Professor of Criminology – Tenure Track Position

St. Bonaventure University invites applications for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Criminology, with responsibilities to begin with the fall 2019 semester.

Criminology, a new program at St. Bonaventure, is housed within the sociology department. Teaching responsibilities are to include introductory courses in criminology, a course in criminological theory, and special topics courses related to the study of crime. It is also an expectation that the chosen candidate will teach the quantitative research methods course for undergraduate criminology and sociology majors. Teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester.

Other responsibilities include liaison with local, state and federal agencies to develop fieldwork opportunities for majors. The successful candidate will additionally serve as an academic advisor to criminology majors, engage in university service and maintain an active research agenda. Applicants should have a PhD in criminology, or demonstrate that they will defend their dissertation by August 2019.
