The Department of Political Science seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor. This position calls for applicants who are qualified to teach: International Relations [International Organizations, American Foreign Policy] and Comparative Politics [Political Systems of: Africa, Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific]. Candidates need to have a good understanding of American government because the course workload requires teaching a minimum of six credit hours each semester of the Department’s survey courses of American and Texas government. Effective teaching, commitment to service, student advising, and the potential for scholarly productivity are part of the responsibilities involved in this position.
Essential Duties SummaryTeach International Relations, Comparative Politics, and other courses as requested. Potential to publish in scholarly outlets, write grant proposals, and seek external funding. Commitment to student advising and service and performing other job-related duties as required.

EducationAn earned doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from an accredited college/university in political science.
