The Department of History at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville seeks to hire a full-time, tenure track assistant professor in African American History, area of specialization and time period are open.
The successful candidate must be able to teach the second half of the US History survey (1877-present), a graduate-readings course in US History, and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialty. The candidate will also teach an undergraduate historical methods course and have the opportunity to develop courses that contribute to a new African Diaspora minor. In addition, candidates must demonstrate an active research agenda and expect to serve on department and university committees.
Faculty Position Required Qualifications:
Teaching experience and evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship are required. The appointment begins in August of 2019; only candidates who have the PhD in hand by that date should apply.
