Overview

Tenure-track position in Ancient Philosophy. Standard teaching load is four courses per year, including one graduate seminar. Position duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework in philosophy; developing and maintaining a nationally or internationally recognized research program in philosophy; participating in department, college and university committees; and advising and mentoring students.

Required Qualifications:
1) PhD in Philosophy completed by the time of appointment;

2) Evidence of excellence in teaching is required;

3) Evidence of excellence in research/scholarship, or evidence of potential for excellence in research/scholarship, in Ancient Philosophy;

4) Ability to articulate a coherent agenda of research or scholarship

5) Effective communication skills

6) Occasional travel to attend professional conferences and meetings; and

7) Must have a criminal background check.
