Ohio Dominican University’s Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice for a full-time tenure track position beginning August 2018. The position includes serving as coordinator of the Criminology and Criminal Justice Major.

The Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences offers undergraduate majors in sociology, psychology, criminal justice, political science, and social work. The successful candidate will possess an earned Ph.D. in Criminology/Criminal Justice or Sociology with a Criminology emphasis. A J.D. is not sufficient for this position. Teaching and research interests in the areas of juvenile delinquency, policing, women and crime, and race and crime are preferred but all areas of specialization will be considered. Candidates should exhibit a strong commitment to quality teaching in a liberal arts environment, a research/scholarly agenda, and the potential for publication. Responsibilities include teaching both survey and upper division courses; supervision of student fieldwork; advising; and service to the University, community and department and related program area. Candidates must support the university’s Catholic identity and its mission in the Dominican tradition to serve all seekers of truth.
