Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Psychology faculty member for the Rockville Campus. Assignment begins January 13, 2011, contingent upon available funding.
Starting salary range is $46,521 to $67,971 per academic year.

Required Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Psychology
Graduate coursework must include courses that reflect both depth and breadth in Psychology.
Candidate must be able to show currency in content and pedagogy.
A minimum of one year full-time or equivalent part-time college teaching experience.
Experience working with a diverse student population.
Experience teaching Introduction to Psychology (both online and face-to-face) and at least one additional course in a psychology content area offered by Montgomery College.
Candidate must show currency working with course management systems, such as WEBCT and Blackboard.
Candidate must show currency working with distance education technology, such as Elluminate and podcasting.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program.
Teaching experience at the community college level.
Completion of advanced online teaching coursework.
Completion of online teaching certifications, such as Quality Matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Faculty member will be expected primarily to teach and develop distance education courses.
Faculty member will be encouraged to develop new online course offerings in Psychology.
In addition to General Psychology, faculty member will be expected to teach a variety of online courses offered by the Psychology Department, including but not limited to developmental and social psychology courses.
