Purdue University North Central is building a pool of qualified individuals for possible part-time teaching positions in the College of Liberal Arts. Openings in some departments occur every semester; openings in other areas occur only occasionally. Limited-Term Lecturers are temporary appointments, which are appointed on a semester basis. Benefits do not apply.
The Department of Social Sciences at Purdue University North Central represents a diverse array of disciplines. With three majors, in Behavioral Sciences, Liberal Studies, and Social Work, the Department provides broad-based educational opportunities across the social sciences including Anthropology, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology.
A Master's degree is required. A Ph.D. and teaching experience, particularly at the college level, is preferred. Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to work during the scheduled course time; courses are offered during the daytime, evening, and at off-campus sites. The fall semester normally begins in the third week of August; the spring semester in the second week of January.
